Principals

The AEU represents primary and secondary school principals, assistant principals and deputy principals across Australia. We offer support at work along with professional and industrial assistance through a variety of networks at a regional, state and national level.

National Principals’ Committee

The AEU National Principals’ Committee represents members from all states and territories. The Chair of the National Principal’s Committee also sits on the AEU’s Federal Executive as a representative of members in promotions positions.

The Committee is the peak national body representing principals on national issues. It promotes the work of principals and the value of public education.

Principal forums with Dr Phil Riley

Principal and Assistant Principal Members are invited to join Dr Phil Riley for a lunch or breakfast forum in your region.

Each year, since 2011, Dr Riley has surveyed Principals across Australia gathering information on their health, wellbeing and capacity to fulfill their duties.  Over that time, he has had feedback from Principals from all sectors, Public, Private, and Catholic. He estimates that approximately 50% of Principals have responded over that time, so the data he has gathered is both pertinent and relevant.

At these forums, Phil will share his latest findings with us, and also facilitate the opportunity for us to discuss the Tasmanian Principal Health and Wellbeing Action Plan.

AEU member principals will receive notice of upcoming forums in your email.
