An urgent reminder that it is a requirement that registered teachers also have a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) from 1 January 2017.

It is critical that any teacher who has not started the RWVP process does so as soon as possible.

You are at risk of losing teacher registration if you do not lodge your application for RWVP as soon as possible given that the process can take up to 6 weeks.

If you have RWVP and have not indicated that you are a teacher you can update your details on line (go to www.justice.tas.gov.au and follow the link).

If you have RWVP you should also update your Teachers Registration Board record with your RWVP number. This can be done on line (www.trb.tas.gov.au and follow the “manage your TRB record” link).

Principals are able to check the status of all teachers at their school or college by going to edi and selecting the Staff/HR Dashboard. From the Staff/HR Dashboard select All Reports, then All Staff Clearances. This report will display a full list of all staff members and their RWVP number and expiry date.
