A member has their job back after their dismissal was found to be unfair and disproportionate.

The AEU successfully appealed the decision of Ms Jenny Dodd, CEO of TasTAFE, to terminate the employment of a TasTAFE member in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission. The member’s AEU legal team argued that the termination of employment was an inappropriate sanction because it was disproportionate to the gravity of the conduct committed and unfair in the context of the member’s personal circumstances.

The Commission agreed that the member’s termination of employment was unfair and ordered that they be reinstated.
