The AEU offers a range of services and support for its members through its network of Industrial Officers, workplace Representatives (Reps), Organisers and the AEU Membership Team.
If you’re having an issue at work, your first port of call should be to your Workplace Rep. If they are unable to help you, they will refer you to our central office where the Internal Organiser will assess your query, provide advice or refer you to an appropriate officer.
We employ experienced Industrial Officers who can advocate for you at the Tasmanian Industrial Commission and with the Teachers Registration Board, the Department of Education, TasTAFE and in other jurisdictions on a range of employment issues.
The AEU has a working arrangement with two leading Tasmanian law firms.
MMTLAW who are based in Burnie and Hall Payne who are based in Hobart.
If you require legal assistance contact our Member Services Team and they will refer you to one of these providers.
We note that both firms offer to provide free simple wills for AEU members.
We are the voice of public education in Tasmania. We represent and advocate for all teachers, principals and support staff working in government schools, colleges and TAFE.
