If you are Support Staff, you may have missed the news at the end of last year that being in union has secured additional TOIL days to make up for those you may have lost during Easter.

We, alongside the CPSU, have secured an agreement with the State Government which was approved by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in December last year.

The agreement provides Support Staff for one-day TOIL for 2014, 2015 and 2017 in lieu of the Easter holidays which fell/will fall in the school holiday period. There isn’t an issue this year (2016) because Easter is during Term time.

The agreement only applies to you if you work a maximum 40-42 weeks per year. It does not apply to you if you work 52 weeks a year.

This is a terrific win for Support Staff and shows the power of being in union.
