If you are a Support Staff person, remember that you may be eligible for additional hours and TOIL days.
In 2015 we worked “in union” to secure an Agreement for you to receive additional TOIL days to make up for those you may have lost during Easter.
The Agreement provides for one-day TOIL in 2014, 2015 and 2017 in lieu of the Easter holidays which fell/will fall in the school holiday period. There isn’t an issue this year (2016) because Easter is during Term time.
The SCHOOL SUPPORT STAFF HOLIDAYS WITH PAY AGREEMENT 2015 only applies to you if you work a maximum 40-42 weeks per year. It does not apply if you work 52 weeks a year.
The DoE has made an extra week of paid hours available to part-time Support Staff. The additional hours are to be worked during Term and at a time agreed between either the Principal or the School Business Manager and the employee.
It is not compulsory that you work these additional hours and they are not available to full-time employees or those 40/42-week staff who work full-time.
