The Government is pressing ahead with its plan to lower the voluntary school starting age and the legislation is being debated in parliament now.

A comprehensive survey we ran of your and others’ views found that 77% of members were opposed to a lowered school starting age. Our Branch Council considered that survey result and, at its August meeting, passed a motion to oppose the change in its current form, at this time.

There’s a public rally on Saturday in Hobart against lowering the school starting age and it’s an opportunity to come along and send a strong message to Government that in the current circumstances these changes are not in the best interests of our kids.
