A big thanks to all new AEU workplace Reps who have come on board and are helping make a positive impact in 2023.

Reps’ unwavering commitment and enthusiasm have brought about significant improvements in the working conditions of educators.

We are grateful for their tireless efforts in advocating for the rights and wellbeing of their colleagues and for the valuable impact they have made.

AEU Northern Organiser Michelle Rippon gave a special shout out to new Reps on the state’s North West Sarah Mott and Matilda Lutwyche from Penguin District School as well as Sonya Porter from Romaine Park Primary.

“It’s great they were prepared to take on the role,” she said.

“They played an important role in keeping the members of their sub-branch informed and organised as the bargaining progressed.

“They knew they had the support of the organising team.

Michelle said any members thinking of becoming a Rep should contact the AEU on 62349500.

“Perhaps you are ready to take on this exciting role in your workplace,” she said.

“Even if your workplace has a rep, having a team of two works really well.
