Teacher Assistant, School Library Technician or a School Administration Staff
Additional 2 weeks
If you are a teacher assistant, school library technician or a school administration staff and are employed up to 40 weeks in a year then you can choose to work an additional two weeks in that year.
The additional two weeks can be worked anytime during the year (including holidays).
If you wish to work the additional two weeks then you need to complete the Additional Two Weeks Form on Department of Education (DoE) Staff Intranet.
You can choose the payment arrangements for the extra two weeks. It can either be two weeks in the last pay in January or one week in the last pay in January and one week at the end of term one.
Additional Week of Hours
If you are a part-time teacher assistant, school library technician or a school administration staff then you can choose to work additional week of hours during school term and you have also agreed to work the additional 2 weeks referred to above. The time for this needs to be agreed between the Principal and the employee (at times best suited to providing extra support time for students).
If you wish to work the additional week of hours you need to complete the Additional Week of Hours Form on DoE Staff Intranet.
Administration Staff (only employed full time for 42 weeks)
Additional 1 week
If you are a school administration staff who is engaged full-time for 42 weeks in a year then you can access an additional one week of employment.
Job share- for those who job share where the role is 1.0 FTE, the 43rd week will be allocated on a pro-rata basis.
The 43rd week is to be worked at a time agreed between the Principal and the employee outside school terms. However, it cannot be worked as additional hours during school terms.
If you wish to work the 43rd week then you need to complete the 43rd Week Election Form on DoE Staff Intranet.
The 43rd week will be paid in the 4 March pay and this payment cannot be annualised.
