The AEU offers a range of services and support for its members through its network of Industrial Officers, workplace Representatives (Reps), Organisers and the AEU Membership Team.
A Problem at Work?
If you’re having an issue at work, your first port of call should be to your Workplace Rep. If they are unable to help you, they will refer you to our central office where the Internal Organiser will assess your query, provide advice or refer you to an appropriate officer.
We employ experienced Industrial Officers who can advocate for you at the Tasmanian Industrial Commission and with the Teachers Registration Board, the Department of Education, TasTAFE and in other jurisdictions on a range of employment issues.
We have formed a partnership with leading Tasmanian law firm, Ogilvie Jennings, to offer AEU members limited free legal advice in the form of an initial appointment on work or non-work related matters.
To make an appointment call the AEU on 1800 001 313 or email us on the form below. This offer of free legal advice is in addition to the high-level advice and support that the AEU continues to provide members on work-related issues.
If you have a work-related issue you should speak to an AEU officer. The majority of work-related issues will continue to be dealt with by us and only referred to lawyers if deemed necessary.
We offer information on issues relating to your retirement. Contact us on 1800 001 313 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Our Membership team can help you with questions about your AEU membership such as subscription renewals.
It’s also important that you keep us up to date about your personal and professional information such as contact details and hours of work.
