Did you know Unions Tasmania offers comprehensive Health and Safety Representative (HSR) training sessions?
Unions Tasmania’s training is highly regarded and has received approval from both WorkSafe Tasmania and Comcare.
Whether you are a new HSR or a seasoned representative, Unions Tasmania provides a five-day course for new HSRs and one-day refreshers throughout the year.
The training covers a wide range of topics to ensure that you are well-equipped to fulfill your duties and obligations within your workplace. Some of the key areas covered include interpreting the WHS legislative framework, understanding your obligations and duties, effective consultation and issue resolution, establishing representation in the workplace, WHS risk assessment, and issuing a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN).
All courses are held at Unions Tasmania’s training facility located at 212 Liverpool St, Hobart Tas 7000, unless otherwise advised. In light of the current circumstances, Unions Tasmania also offers the option of online attendance via Zoom. We encourage you to register early to allow sufficient time for course materials to be posted to you prior to the training.

By participating in these courses, you will gain valuable insights into your rights and responsibilities as an HSR, ensuring that you can effectively represent your colleagues and promote a safe working environment.
