Farewell John O’Rourke

The AEU thanks John O’Rourke for the continued hard work he has done at Union as the AEU’s Principals Organiser.

Mr O’Rourke took on the role, originally for a 6-month contract, yet his tenure at the Union ended up spanning three years.

AEU Tasmania President David Genford thanked Mr O’Rourke for his commitment to improving educational outcomes for students and teachers.

“John leaves a significant legacy including the finalisation of the Principals Reclassification Project and as an invaluable confidant to our principal members who have come to rely upon his judgment, mentoring, and advice,” he said.

“John now retires again (no Johnny Farnham jokes please) and we wish him the best for his well earned retirement.”
