The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is administering the above election for leadership and governance positions of the Australian Education Union (AEU) Tasmanian Branch.

Nominations, which must be in writing and comply with the registered rules of the Organisation and the agreed processes for the conduct of this election, may be made at any time from 9:00am Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) 19/10/2020.

Nomination forms shall be provided by the organisation. Additional forms are available from the Returning Officer. Prospective candidates and nominators should verify their financial status and any other qualifications required by the Organisation’s rules prior to lodging nominations.

Nominations must reach the Returning Officer via the lodgement method stipulated below not later than 12:00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) on 09/11/2020.

Withdrawing Nominations
Nominations cannot be withdrawn after 4:00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) on 11/11/2020.

Candidate Statements – only applicable where Candidate Statements are allowed in the Rules of the AEU for the relevant position.

Candidates may submit a statement to be included with ballot material. Only statements which comply with the Rules and are received by the Returning Officer by 4:00pm (Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT)) on 11/11/2020 can be accepted.

Voting Period
The ballot, if required, will open on 30/11/2020 and close at 10:00am Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) on 11/01/2021.

The appointment of scrutineers closes 10:00am Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) on 11/01/2021. A form is available from the Returning Officer for the purposes of appointing Scrutineers.
