Check your payslip for your updated salary, from your first pay rise under the new Teachers Agreement 2025-2028. Including back pay!
Your pay increase has been back dated to March 2026, when your last agreement expired.
While DECYP want to pat themselves on the back – remember it was you and your fellow educators who fought tooth and nail to smash the Government’s 2.5% pay cap (and threats to deny back pay altogether).
How does my payrise work?
In addition to the 3% payrise all educators will get in Year 1 of the Agreement, many long-serving staff will see a bonus lump-sump increase to base salaries (all backdated to March 2026):
- Band 1, Level 13 – $500 to base
- School Psychologists – $500 to base
- Advanced Skills Teachers – $400 to base
- Assistant Principals – $250 to base
This boost is applied before the 3% pay rise is calculated, meaning new pays will be a bigger bump than just 3% on what you’ve previously been earning. Nice!
It’s always good idea to have a chat with your Workplace Rep if something doesn’t look right in your payslip, or you’re unsure about advice you’ve received! Or you can contact your union office!
