Your AEU TAFE Executive invites Expressions of Interest from members to join our TAFE Division Executive and guide our work in union within the TAFE sector.
The AEU TAFE Division Executive controls the affairs of the TAFE Division in between meetings of the TAFE Division Council, made up of Executive members and other Council members.
Meetings of the TAFE Division Executive (TDE) are held at least 8 times in each calendar year at a time and place determined by the TDE, currently generally a Friday which can include attendance by video conference. Members of the TAFE Division Executive are entitled to reasonable paid time with TasTAFE working hours to fulfil their duties as a union representative.
Under the TasTAFE Teachers Agreement, union delegates are also entitled to recognition that skills acquired by a delegate undertaking that role are integral to assessments for performance management, salary progression and career advancement.
The powers of the AEU TAFE Division Executive include decisions around Enterprise Agreements and bargaining which determine the working conditions and wages of AEU members at TasTAFE. Joining the TDE is a great way to contribute to better outcomes and strong campaigns to protect and improve TasTAFE working conditions.
