Hobart – AEU Reps Training (September 2nd)

WHAT TO EXPECT before training

  • An email from our lovely Admin Officer Masika, confirming the training and asking you a couple of questions about dietary and relief requirements.
  • A confirmation email from Masika, confirming your details and attendance.
  • You will need to let your manager know that you will be out for the whole day.  You don’t need to seek permission, it is a requirement to attend training as part of your AEU Rep role.
  • Masika will communicate all of the information to your employer.
  • Relief payment is covered for you for the day, if it is your usual work day. This is an agreement between your union and your employer. Reimbursement will be sent to your SBM after trainingoccurs.  This allows for if there is a last minute change and you are unable to attend.
  • We will see you on the day 🙂

WHAT TO EXPECT at training

  • To meet other reps in other southern workplaces, to network. (in person)
  • An introduction in to how the AEU is structured/works.
  • A couple of guest speakers who have roles within our union structure, that support you in supporting your members.
  • Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch will be catered for (including juices,  coffee and tea).
  • Bring your laptop, so we can do some workplace activities.
  • Tasks to complete when you go back to your workplace.

WHAT NOT TO EXPECT at training

  • Parking on the premises. You can choose to bus in (they are free), be dropped off or walk. But, if you bring your own car, you will have to park off site and move your car every 2 hours.
